Our fifth-floor room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and guest services were genuinely helpful and professional throughout. But a significant part of the first floor is under construction, so when you enter, you’re basically walking into a construction zone. I booked through Priceline and wish I’d called ahead. There was an unfinished-looking or poorly painted area on our ceiling. I don’t know if it’s connected to the construction, but it added to the impression, even if it was only cosmetic. The hotel has potential, though it needs quite a bit of TLC before it feels like the three-star property it’s listed as. Right now I’d put it closer to two or two-and-a-half stars. With renovations finished it could be a solid option, but for now, manage your expectations.

The lobby is being renovated, but it hasn’t affected our stay at all. Our room was newly renovated, very clean, and quiet, and the hotel is in a great location for visiting UC Health. It’s been a welcome retreat. I’m on my second night here and wanted to write about how outstanding the experience has been. Everyone we’ve met is warm and friendly, full of joy, and works hard to make guests feel welcome. That positive atmosphere is all through the hotel. Don’t hesitate to book here!

I stayed here January 23-25 so I could safely get to work as a nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital during the snow on January 24. I knew I’d be charged for a full day even though I checked out early. Around 7:30 p.m. on January 25, I handed the keys for room 531 to the man at the counter and asked if I needed to do anything else before leaving. He said no, I was all set. Now they’ve charged me for another day. The hotel says its door devices showed the door opening and that someone was in the room when staff knocked. They also say they called the room instead of our cell phones, which is odd because we weren’t there. On January 28, the manager wouldn’t check the cameras to confirm when I checked out. We have Ring camera videos from when I got home, and wanted to show them that I was back and playing in the yard with my kids in the snow that morning, at the time they say someone was in the room. I imagine employees take advantage of patrons. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to be charged for an extra day. Joe, the manager, was unhelpful and rude. I hope Hilton seriously looks into this. I’ll tell our director to remove this hotel from the staff recommendations. If I could give zero stars, I would, though that would make this a great review for them.

The front desk guy was such a bright, smiling face when my friends and I arrived Friday night, and again when we left, since he’d come back to work. I wish I’d gotten his name. He was incredibly kind, gave us water, and was so positive and uplifting.

The hotel was being renovated while I was there, but my room had already been updated and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were available every day, and there’s plenty of parking in the top lot or garage. Restaurants are within walking distance, and UC Health is about a four-minute drive away. There’s also vending and laundry, at $1.50 per wash and $1.50 per dry. Bring your own laundry products and bags, since none are sold there, though that could change after the renovation. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome.
