2125 Superior Living

We booked through VRBO months ahead for the Fourth of July weekend, but arrived to loose cabinet doors, missing kitchen utensils, dead insects scattered around, and makeup on the neatly folded towels. The stains came out easily in the washing machine. The Wi-Fi never worked. We contacted the company managing the units, but got no working internet, replacement utensils, or help with the other problems. They eventually stopped responding altogether. They asked us to send photos, but the VRBO app wouldn't let us attach them and they offered no other way to share them at the time. The customer service was atrocious.

Our first room was very dirty when we got there, but luckily they found us another one. There should be at least one staff member on site.

The manager stopped replying after we sent several messages, then later asked us to leave a five-star review. The apartment was filthy when we arrived, with stains on the carpet, towels, and walls, plus hair in the bed and showers. It also looked nothing like the advertised photos, which we think had been edited. I'd avoid renting in this complex.

Parking is secure, but it's a decent walk from the building. It's probably easiest to pay for an hour out front while unloading, then move to the fenced lot on the street behind the property. I don't know if I'd stay again. The biggest problem was the unit itself. The bed sagged in the middle and squeaked constantly, the air vents were filthy, and there were a few smaller maintenance issues too. I left housekeeping a note about the bed. The kitchen supplies were in rough shape: the only garbage bag was the one already in the bin, the dish soap was watered down and nearly empty, and both dishwasher pods had melted onto the cabinet. I had to make an emergency trip to buy those basics. Booking had looked promising. The online photos of Superior Living showed a bright, modern industrial space with nice furnishings, but I was assigned a dark, dungeon-like townhome. The flimsy window coverings left the sleeping area visible from the walkway, so there was hardly any privacy. I felt duped. I sent photos and called the 24-hour customer service line, and after more prompting from the booking agency, they replied by offering another unit that felt just as dungeon-like. I checked it out and left that one too. Only after a tense discussion did management move me to a flat that wasn't dungeon-like. I brought in the rest of my bags and tried to settle in for the weekend. If you book, I'd double and triple check which type of unit you're getting. Unless you're a troglodyte who likes that kind of space, you don't want to end up in one of the dungeon units.
