Extended Stay America Select Suites - Cleveland - Airport

My room was tidy enough but dirty and clearly needed a deep clean. The neighbors were loud, and you could hear everything through the wall. Many guests seemed to be staying long-term, and some were obviously partying. The room had a mix of cigarette smoke and curry smell, and the bed was basic and uncomfortable. There was no soap in the bathroom, and the desk clerk said they don't provide shampoo. Broken-down cars were sitting in the parking lot, and there wasn't anything to do nearby except a small bar about a five-minute walk away. My flight had been cancelled late at night, so this was a place to land in a pinch. It felt like a flop house. Expect something else and you'll be disappointed.

I was traveling across the United States for a family emergency and stayed three nights. The rooms were very clean, there were no bugs, and the price was great. Customer service was amazing, especially the night-shift woman who lives on site. I forgot her name, but she even helped me clean the room.

Everyone on staff works hard and treats us with respect. Corey says good morning every day, and my daughter greets him when she gets home from school. Elise at the front desk is kind, respectful, and helps whenever you need it. Debbie, the housekeeper, is a sweetheart and makes me feel welcome when I need something for my room. The rooms aren't bad. I've been cleaning my own since I've been here. Marty, the new maintenance guy, is always outside tidying up, mopping the hall floors, cleaning the elevator, and taking out the trash. Jess and Lonnie are great too. The whole staff is really nice.

The front desk service here was the best of the three Extended Stay hotels I looked at. Thanks, Elise. The building felt clean, and the caring, friendly staff made it feel welcoming and family-like. All three hotels were near highways, but the way people here treated me was better than I expected, especially after dealing with the manager at a privately owned place. If you're looking for a clean, family-friendly stay, the Emerald location is a good choice. My only housekeeping concern was the inside of the microwave and the area above the stove. I may be a bit of a clean freak, but I don't want old grease falling into my food while I'm cooking. Most people might not look up there, and it's an issue at many places. Otherwise, everything was clean, with no smoke smell or loud guests bothering me. The Grayton Road Tavern next door has excellent food, and the owner is very nice. The Queen of Hearts drawing every other Wednesday is fun to go to. You won't be disappointed.
