They kindly upgraded our room and made us feel at home. Great hotel, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

My wife and I own a bar and grill, so we tend to notice how places handle your money and your time. We’d been here before and enjoyed it, but this visit was even better. We arrived ten minutes early for a drink in the garden, and Christina welcomed us and helped us before opening. We planned to relax for a couple of hours, get some paperwork done, and enjoy the quiet as the season slowed down. Christina answered all our questions, and what she said got us curious about the hotel rooms. She told us we could look at any rooms with their doors open, so we did. They were all beautiful and clean, but we skipped a couple and went back outside to the bar. When she asked whether we’d seen Hemmingway’s room and I said no, she took me back in and gave us a great tour. I learned a lot of history from her. It’s a beautiful place, and she really knows it. I hope I can have employees like her at our own place. Thanks, Christina, for telling us about the Chamberlain, taking such good care of us, and making it a great visit. We’ll be back because of her.

We lucked out with music in the garden on Wednesday and Saturday nights during our one-night stay on July 23rd. The outdoor space and shared areas are beautiful. We had a small King room, which felt tight, and the old claw-foot tub may be hard for some people to get in and out of. The rooms all have different decor that fits the hotel’s period. Continental breakfast is included, with yogurt, muffins, instant oatmeal, English muffins, and bagels, plus good coffee and juice. We’d love to stay again when we’re in the area.

We didn’t stay overnight, but came by for evening drinks and small plates. The grounds and public areas are beautiful, and service was great. We shared a couple of flatbreads and mixed nuts, along with prosecco and a couple of mixed drinks. Everything was excellent, and it made for a pleasant, memorable evening.
