Quality Inn & Suites Columbia Harbison

My nephew rates this place one out of five, and I can see why. We drove ten hours from Maryland to spend Thanksgiving with family, but the trouble started as soon as we arrived. We were handed keycards with something sticky on them, and the elevator was out of order. I later saw another review mentioning that same elevator problem months earlier. We had booked partly because the hotel advertised a 24-hour fitness center. An employee said it had “never been added”; there was only a sign on the door, and the room was being used for storage. Breakfast was poor too: stale mini muffins and just three hot options, potatoes, gravy, and instant mac and cheese. Finding a roach in our room right before Thanksgiving dinner was the last straw. We told the front desk about everything and asked to shorten our two-night reservation to one night, but they said they couldn't change it and would charge both nights even if we left early. We checked out after finding the roach and moved to the Hilton down the street. It's sad that $100 a night doesn't get you what it used to.

My company had prepaid for my stay, but the front desk couldn't find my reservation. I tried to book a room there instead, and the employee couldn't do it even with a manager on the phone. I'm telling my company never to book here again, or at any other Quality Inn.

Jay at the front desk was really nice. The place was clean and well maintained, and it looks like it was remodeled sometime in the past year. I'd stay here again.

The suite with two separate bedrooms and a shared living room worked really well for my family. It gave us room to spend time together, and the rooms themselves were spacious, with a great interior and a thorough clean. Check-in was smooth too. This is now my favorite place to stay in Columbia, SC. Highly recommend!
