Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus New Albany

My husband was still asleep when the front desk mistakenly checked him out at 8:00 AM. They wouldn't take responsibility, and it completely disrupted his trip. We called after he got home and were told they'd look into it and call back. Three hours passed with no call, so we rang again. The front desk woman sounded annoyed that we were following up and was very rude. Then she transferred us to a general manager who was no help at all. Instead of offering a partial refund or a free night for their mistake, the manager offered points, even though we don't have a points account. She said that if we wanted a free night, we had to book that night, which wasn't possible because my husband works Monday. The manager was defensive, as if the hotel hadn't made the error. We have the checkout email showing the staff processed it at 8:08 AM. For nearly $200 a night, we expect the service we paid for. This was disgusting, unprofessional behavior. Don't stay here. We'll contact Keon Clark, who is supposedly above the general manager, to escalate the issue, and if we're dismissed again, we'll take it to the Ohio Attorney General's Office. I also want to add that the hotel doesn't seem to respond to negative reviews about its practices or guests' experiences. That alone feels like a reason to steer clear.
