Hampton Inn Cornelia

The hotel was fine, but it didn't quite meet the quality I expected from a Hampton. Some reviews make it sound like it was recently renovated. Most of my room looked nice, though a few things seemed to have been skipped. The sink and shower looked like the old units, which felt odd, and the sink plunger was broken. That wasn't a huge deal.

The complimentary breakfast was good, but I can't recommend staying here right now. I'm at this Hampton Inn, and the experience has fallen well below what I expect from a Hilton property. Renovations are underway, and construction workers seem to be staying long term, alongside other people who appear to live on site. It feels more like an extended-stay place than a regular hotel. The atmosphere has been uncomfortable. People smoke marijuana inside and outside, and the smell lingers. One evening, construction equipment had been left in front of my door, so I had to move it to get into my room. Housekeeping also came in despite my Do Not Disturb sign. The nightly price doesn't match the property's current condition. Management needs to handle the renovations better, enforce the nonsmoking rules, and respect guest privacy. Check whether construction and long-term residents are still there before booking.

The room and common area were both nice and clean. It was also conveniently located near local places to eat and destinations around the area.

June 17-18, 2025. The kids enjoyed the free cookies, and check-in was very easy. Our room was clean, though the beds could've been more comfortable. Renovations were going on, which was inconvenient. Workers seemed to be staying there and were often in the hall or right outside our room, making us a little uncomfortable. For the price, we expected better. I'd avoid it until the renovation work is finished.
