The laundry setup is the main drawback, with only one set of machines. Breakfast is just acceptable, too. Still, this works really well for longer stays: the kitchenette has a two-burner stove and lots of cabinets, and the friendly staff brought fresh towels and hand rags each day. Maids cleaned daily as well.
What I’ll remember most is the help after checkout. I’d locked my wallet, keys, and phone inside my car and was already behind schedule, but the front desk guy called over a couple of construction workers. They got into the car without damaging it and saved me time, money, and a lot of anxiety. The stay itself was fine for a quick stop on a cross-country drive. I had to get around some indoor construction to reach my room, but it seemed clean enough. The shower had good pressure, a pizza delivery came right to the room, and I got some sleep. Five stars for the help when I really needed it.
The room was clean, the shower pressure was great, and there are lots of stores nearby, around a 9-12 minute drive. Breakfast was bleh, and the toilet paper was thin. What ruined the stay was the lack of privacy. On my second afternoon, I’d showered and was sitting on the bed in a T-shirt getting ready to go out when a woman came into the room without knocking or announcing herself. I told her I was there and didn’t need anything, then had to repeat myself before she finally left, even then it took a minute. A cleaning guy had already taken my trash that morning while I was out running. Completely unacceptable.
Our room had a kitchenette with a sink, induction cooktop, microwave, and small fridge with a freezer. The beds were comfortable, the place was pretty clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was the usual scrambled eggs and sausage links, and the price was reasonable for a few minutes from Downtown Omaha. We’d stay again. The one nuisance was the TV remote. It worked with the cable box but not the TV itself, so we had to switch the TV on and off manually. Seems like it may just need to be synced again, but it wasn’t a big deal.
The room smelled like cigarettes, and I’m not a smoker. I ended up getting our own blankets and pillows from the car and sleeping on top of the sheets because they had stains. It felt like someone had only made the beds and changed the trash and soaps. Dust was everywhere, even on the air conditioner, and there were spots in the dust like someone had put their things down and left without anyone sanitizing or dusting. The bathroom was especially bad: there was poop or blood splatter on the wall around the toilet, the sink and microwave didn’t look wiped down, and the shower, though it looked clean, still had a hair in it. I clean rooms for a living, and it shouldn’t be this dirty. The walls need wiping down for starters.
