MainStay Suites Dallas Northwest - Irving

My confirmed reservation at MainStay Suites, booked through Choice Hotels, was canceled after the property owner called me. They canceled solely because they didn't like the rate I'd booked. That's disappointing service and not what I expect from a brand like Choice. Corporate should address this kind of practice.

The room was beautiful, and I was surprised by how nice the hotel was for the price. It was clean and orderly, and the staff were great. My one real issue was that the front desk wasn't as available as I needed. A few times I had to go look for someone when I needed help. The woman at the front was very busy but accommodating, and pleasant to talk with. I'd definitely recommend the hotel.

The room was okay, but bugs turned up now and then, and the AC leaked onto the floor. Housekeeping noticed the leak and cleaned it up. After I checked out, my debit card was hit with two unauthorized charges. I filed a claim with my bank and got the money back. Lisa, the manager, can be rude sometimes, though the other front desk staff are pleasant. Breakfast was trash, with bread that felt like it had been sitting out for days. I also saw a lot of sex workers coming and going, but nobody bothered me. I stayed for a few months on a work assignment. Depending on your standards, you can find a better hotel, but this one's affordable for a quick stay.

Beber deserves a special mention. He's always extremely kind and goes out of his way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Lisa, the manager, is also very kind, accommodating, and compassionate. The staff as a whole are helpful and the rooms and property are always clean. I've had wonderful stays here, and the price is great compared with similar hotels nearby. I'm very thankful for the service.
