Motel 6 Dallas, TX – Downtown

This place needs a complete renovation and doesn't represent the Motel 6 brand. The mini fridge didn't work. In the room, all you get is a bar of soap. There's no coffee maker or shampoo, and the pillows are old and smell funky.

I was enjoying my stay until I noticed what was on the bed. I woke up in the middle of the night to a strong urine smell. In the morning, as I usually do at hotels, I stripped the bed and took out the trash to help housekeeping. There was a large pee stain on the mattress protector under the sheets. I pulled off another layer and the stain was even bigger. By the time I got to the mattress, it was huge and clearly old. It was really uncomfortable to realize I'd slept on a bed that hadn't been properly cleaned or checked. The smell and the layers of stains showed a lack of basic cleanliness and attention. I hope management takes this seriously and improves its cleaning standards so no other guest has to deal with the same thing.

I've stayed here multiple times. It's cheap and nothing fancy, and I've never had a problem before. The front desk clerks are usually nice. This time, though, I got no sleep for two nights because the people upstairs kept banging and moving furniture at 1:30 in the morning. I reported them, and the girl said she'd call. If she did, it didn't make them stop. After hours of stomping and what I was told was a two-year-old playing, I went back to the desk. She said she'd warn them again, but they had no other rooms, even though the parking lot was basically empty. A two-year-old can't move furniture, and I heard it being dragged around. What kind of parents let a little kid bang on the floor at 1:30 am? This was definitely my last stay.

We had a great time, and the bed was clean. There were plenty of towels, and it was comfortable for me and my girly. The front desk sorted out a discrepancy with our reservations and made the corrections without any trouble.
