We stayed in the music room, which was in great shape and nicely updated, with little historical touches throughout. I especially liked the push-button light switch. Jay and Aaron were wonderful and really accommodating. And don't skip breakfast!

The new young owners were friendly, and the B&B itself is very nice. We’d stayed here under the previous owners, so this visit was disappointing in the details: old-looking garbage by the coffee maker, just one Keurig pod, and the kitchen table crumbs stayed there all three days. The shower supplies were empty, and although we were told they’d be refilled, they weren’t. The sourdough was too hard to eat. We paid extra for the weekend, yet we were the only guests, with seven rooms empty.

We were passing through on the way to Yellowstone and stayed one night at the beautiful, authentic 1899 Inn on Friday, 9/5/2025. The walk to the cemetery at the top of the street was exhilarating, and downtown Deadwood is an easy walk too. We stayed in the 'Maid's Room'; its bathroom was down the hall, about six steps away. Sharing with another room wasn’t a problem, and we never saw the other guests. The whole house, including our room and the bathroom, was spotless and impeccably kept. Breakfast was an excellent egg bake with lovely sides and fresh sourdough. The hosts were gracious. We’d happily return whenever we’re passing through.

We’ve stayed here three times and it’s never let us down. The decor is fabulous, everything feels top notch, and the staff are personable and accommodating. Deadwood’s main street and its casinos are an easy walk away. We won’t stay anywhere else when we visit Deadwood.

The hosts were superb, and breakfast was first-class. I spent one night at the 1899 Inn on 1/16/26 and loved its inviting accommodations and wonderful old-time charm. It’s easily the best place to stay in Deadwood. I can’t wait to come back!
