Comfort Inn Dickson

The staff were charming, and they dealt with our TV problem quickly and very politely. We were there during a difficult ice storm, and the hotel was sold out. A water pipe in our restroom had a slow leak, which wasn’t ideal. They couldn’t move us, but they offered us a significant discount perk that made it right. I’d recommend the place.

I’ve worked in hotels, and this isn’t how an early check-in fee should work. The room was empty and available, but I was told there’d be a $25 fee to check in at 0600, then check out at 1100 the same day. That leaves only four or five hours in the room, so charging for “early” check-in feels absurd. In that situation, it’s really a late check-in if I still have to leave at 1100. I understand the impact of early arrivals. I went 10 minutes to another hotel, paid the 25 early check-in fee, and stayed until 11 the next morning. Their regular check-in was 3pm, and I got the room until the following morning, which is exactly how it should work. Do better, Comfort Inn.

The room was dated and had a huge paint or grout stain down the only sink, plus a large red stain beside the bed that looked like it could have been a spill or someone getting sick. I told the person at the desk, and he just said okay. A clean room and bed, along with decent service, are the basics I expect. I’ve stayed in an updated room that I guessed was from the 60’s, and it was fabulous. This place has a long way to go on updates and what it provides guests. The desk guy was nice and polite, and the woman working the breakfast bar was also very nice and worked hard. She deserves a raise. I visit my grandchildren here often and like trying different places, but this one didn’t work for me and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Harry at the front desk was especially helpful and made check-in really easy. Everyone there was nice, and the room was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed to relax. I also enjoyed the good breakfast each morning. I had a great stay at comfort inn & suites and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, pleasant visit.
