stayAPT Suites Dothan

Michael was amazing on the phone and in person. The rooms were well decorated, newer appliances, and very clean. The place is just off Dothan’s main strip, tucked away but still close enough to walk to several restaurants. It was perfect for my one-night stay, though I’d bring my family of seven here too. For the price and amount of space, it’s an easy choice. A++++++ recommend to all!

The courtyard fire pit and grill make it feel less like a hotel. Mike, the one with the fedora, was really friendly and accommodating to our needs. Rooms are spacious, clean, and a great value. I’d recommend staying here, especially for a longer visit.

We booked three rooms at Stay APT in Dothan for five days, arriving late Monday night. Two rooms had double beds, and one had a king. My youngest daughter slept on the pull-out couch. On the first night, the people in the king room found a cockroach. The next night there was a large spider, and another room had a roach. We didn’t make an issue of it until four of us woke up with bed bug bites the following morning. I recognized them from past experience, and my daughter had the worst bites. That same morning, staff were replacing couches and chairs in other rooms. The front desk clerk offered us new rooms, but we couldn’t in good faith stay. We decided as a group to leave. They refunded all but one day, so I do respect their customer service, but they really need an exterminator for future guests.

The place was comfortable enough, and the staff were nice. We enjoyed the stay until checkout day. We’d packed a lot of our things into the car, then went downtown for coffee and to see the Mardi Gras Parade preparations for Dothan’s “happiest day in Dothan.” Checkout was at 11 a.m., but we lost track of time and got back at 11:45. In those 45 minutes, staff had inexplicably thrown away what we’d left behind, around $400 to $500 worth of food, toiletries, and personal items. Needless to say, we won’t be back.
