Sonesta Simply Suites Dublin Columbus

I’ve been staying here for almost six months without any major problems. Sometimes the neighbors are loud, but that happens anywhere. It’s still been a great choice, and I’m looking forward to using the pool in summer. The property manager is great and always helpful. She smiles and says hello when you pass her, and the free lobby coffee helps a lot.

We asked to talk with the general manager about options, including cleaning the room ourselves and getting reimbursed for supplies, since the hotel hadn’t provided any. That was refused. When we asked to switch rooms, they said the hotel was full, and eventually told us we’d have to check out. We’d asked for the room to be cleaned again after finding a vape on the floor, a water bottle in the freezer, and an open cabinet. The desk said a reclean wasn’t available. They called the cleaner, who said the vape and bottle were theirs. That left us unsure the room had been cleaned properly and concerned about the staff’s care and professionalism.

I stayed there for two weeks, booking Sunday to Sunday twice and keeping the same room. On day 12, a Friday, I went to visit my mother in WV. I booked that room again for Saturday and called Marcus to make sure I’d have it. When I came back Sunday, my food, utensils, and other things were gone. Lisa said housekeeping thought I’d left because I took my suitcases. I emailed the company, and Lise replied rudely that it wasn’t an apartment and they could enter whenever they wanted. The room itself was a good size and clean for the Super+ price, but management was horrible. I know Marcus and the housekeeping and maintenance staff live at the hotel, and I believe Lisa does too. My lock stopped working, and Marcus broke in, saying he’d get it fixed in the morning. It wasn’t fixed, so I cracked the window in case I needed to get in. I had to climb through it for three days. On my last visit I booked through Vio.com, but at check-in they said I was banned. Marcus wouldn’t speak to me or explain why. He told the front desk woman over the phone that I’d used a fake website. I complained to Sonesta Corporate office and never heard back. It’s all good now, though. I’ve got an apartment in Columbus that costs less per month than the hotels did. That’s only one per diem check lol.

I really liked having a separate entrance, and I could see my car from the first-floor room. The parking lot was well lit, so I felt safe. The location was easy to find and customer service was nice. The fireplace was great, and the kitchen had a full-size stove and fridge. Bathroom was great too. Definitely would stay again!
