Super 8 Duluth

We were traveling with our dog in an all-electric vehicle, and this reasonably priced hotel accepts dogs. It’s very close to the charging stations by Menards. The sauna and fitness center looked great, but we were too busy to use either one and would have liked to have had the chance.

The bed is fairly comfortable, but I’m grossed out by the black stuff all over my pillow. There was a pen cap under the bed, dead bugs on the windowsill, and the lobby was disgusting. They put me on the second floor of a place with no elevator. When I asked how I was meant to get my 48-pound suitcase upstairs, the man just stared and offered neither help nor a solution. I broke my back a year and a half ago, so I’m pretty sure I’ll barely be able to move tomorrow. I’m not usually very picky, and I own a business, so I know bad reviews matter. This one is deserved.

I’ve been coming here for about 10 years, and it’s usually great. They’ve made a lot of updates, but the beds have changed since my last visit and are hard as rocks. The single blanket is thin, and the top layer is almost like a sheet, so it doesn’t keep you warm. We’re in Duluth, not Phoenix.

Modern rooms, biscuits and gravy every morning, and a sauna, which is a huge plus. The locally owned place has a very nice owner and a pretty red-haired woman working the front desk. 6 out of 5!
