We stayed five nights because everything else was booked and the reservation was nonrefundable. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The place was in such bad shape that we went to Walmart our first night to buy cleaning supplies and clean the room ourselves. We’d just driven halfway across the country and were exhausted. At check-in, we paid a $50 deposit. The front desk employee knew we had a cat but put us in a pet-free room, apparently the only one she had available, though the parking lot was empty and we barely saw anyone around. She only asked that there be no issues. We caused no damage or mess and left the room cleaner than we found it. After checkout, they kept the $50 deposit and charged another $50. When I called to ask why, the manager was extremely rude, accused me of lying, and wouldn’t provide proof or paperwork for the charges. They said it was because of the cat, even though their employee knowingly let us stay in that room with it. There were problems right from the start. The key for the first room they tried to give us didn’t work, and a dog in the next room was barking like crazy, so we had to return to the front desk and switch rooms. The place is run terribly, the conditions are unacceptable, and the staff are unprofessional. The way they handle charges felt dishonest. Other reviews make it seem like this may not be a one-time issue. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you have no other option. If you do stay, document everything and keep a close eye on your card.
