Quality Inn & Suites

We left after just one night, even though we'd booked the weekend. The location was quiet, which we didn't mind, and fast food like McDonald's and Arby's was nearby, but most other places were 15-30 minutes away. The man who checked us in was great, and the tidy, nicely arranged lobby initially made us feel we'd picked well. That changed as soon as we got to the room. We spent the first half hour cleaning: surfaces felt sticky, and the heating and cooling unit was so full of dust that I cleaned it out myself. At first glance the room looked clean, but up close it clearly wasn't. One curtain was cut off, and the rooms seemed dated. We'd hoped for the advertised continental breakfast around 7 the next morning. There was no hot food or coffee, just bagels, toast, and waffles, and the fruit was turning brown. Other guests were also complaining about their rooms and breakfast, so we went elsewhere to eat. After we left and came back, someone had made the bed, but hadn't changed the sheets or bedding. Only one trash can had been emptied, and there were no fresh towels or rags. The place felt poorly managed, with amenities advertised that weren't available. The lack of cleaning made for poor service and quality, and we wouldn't stay again.

The jacuzzi was a real highlight, and whenever we made a request, the staff took care of it promptly. I had a nice weekend catching up with the girls, and we enjoyed both the stay and the service. We'll be back next year.

We booked online, but no one came to check us in. After waiting at least 15 minutes, we left. The lobby had dust and dirt everywhere, with bugs on the floor. Someone finally appeared as we were walking out and spoke rudely to us, as if we shouldn't have been there. It was 4:15 in the afternoon. We went to the car to cancel, only to find we were 15 minutes past the cutoff for a refund. Hotels.com tried to reach the hotel for 72 hours, but no one answered the phone.

Our parents had booked the room while we were driving to Florida. At the front desk, the gentleman was asleep. When we woke him, he seemed disoriented, almost like he was drunk. The room smelled awful, so we asked to move, and were sent to a room that already had people in it. That was enough for us. We said we were leaving, and he waved us out the door. Our parents were charged, but the manager won't return their calls. Choice hotels has really gone downhill. We stayed at the one next door in April and it was nice, but I think it's closed now. We drove a little farther and found a great hotel for less. DO NOT GET OFF INTERSTATE, PASS THIS ONE UP.
