Comfort Suites Florence - Cincinnati South

After paying something like $130, I expected some kind of response, but I waited until now to see if management would address what happened and nobody has. A couple of hours after unpacking, I found a ton of black hair in the bed. I’m a redhead. The front desk moved me to another room, where I checked the beds and found black hair there too. I just wanted to sleep, so I asked for sheets, but they had no clean ones to give me. They moved me to one more room, which was mostly fine. There was also a bug in one of my rooms, and the AC and phones didn’t work, so I had to go up and down the elevator at least fifteen times. The front desk person felt bad and told me to talk to the manager, saying they’d take care of it. The manager has been conveniently unavailable and still hasn’t called me back.

The rooms and hotel were pretty clean, and the location was really good, close to restaurants and attractions, with ample parking near the main entrance. But I regretted checking in within 10 minutes. We only stayed because I wasn’t traveling alone and didn’t want to inconvenience everyone else. Maybe people who gave this place five stars have low standards, or average standards just don’t exist anymore. Either way, this hotel is a joke. Breakfast was the same lackluster stuff all three days. At least some places switch between bacon and sausage, but here it was nasty sausage links every morning. My mom loves breakfast and skipped it after day one. You could tell they just don’t care. Good luck getting your room refreshed if you’re here less than a week, and a whole week here is a hard pass. Customer service was another letdown. Most of the people I dealt with seemed to be there just for a paycheck, and they didn’t even greet you when you came in. The TVs wouldn’t accept a Roku or Fire Stick, and the channel selection was pretty garbage. We went during Christmas and managed to find a couple of decent movies. Even with the positives, this was our first stay at a Comfort Suites and it’ll be our last. I’d spend $20 more a night for a better place nearby. You work too hard for your money to stay somewhere you don’t feel valued as a guest.

I like the outdoor seating areas off the breakfast space and by our room. We visited in winter, so didn’t really use them, but they’re nice to have when the weather’s warmer. Lovely Choice/Comfort Suites hotel.

The room was clean and good, better than average compared with other Comfort Suites. Breakfast only had apples for fruit, and there’s no hot tub by the pool.
