Darlene sent simple check-in instructions for our arrival after dark, and we found the neighborhood quiet and safe-feeling. My bestie and I were in the Ft Worth area to visit the WallBuilders American History Museum ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in Aledo, TX, about 20 minutes away. Street parking made loading and unloading easy. The room was lovely, and the coffee and water station in the second-floor common area was appreciated. Downstairs, the pastries and brewed coffee for breakfast were five-star delicious. Darlene also recommended award-winning Dayne's Craft BBQ in Aledo, which isn't affiliated with the Inn, and it didn't disappoint.

The Golden Age room was ours, and we loved it. The whole house felt welcoming and like home, with a relaxed atmosphere, cozy corners, beautiful antiques, books, conversation games, and even a little flashlight in the room if you need it. There were fresh flowers in every room, which we learned is “very Danish.” The from-scratch pastries were so good, though there were too many for us to try them all. Hot coffee and tea were ready, along with a fridge full of bottled and sparkling water. The place was clean and inviting. We had the best stay at Three Danes.

There were pastries laid out, a good coffee station, and a lovely porch where I could unwind. I happened to be the only guest that night, so I had the run of the place. I hope I get a reason to return. Three Danes is a lovely historic home, fully restored. Walking through it felt like seeing the house as it might have been in its pristine youth a hundred years ago. I look for interesting non-chain places when I can, and this was a nice new experience. It's cozy, as homes of that era tend to be, so with a full house you'd want to be mindful of people in the other rooms. I imagine the guests who choose Three Danes are seasoned travelers who know how to enjoy shared spaces and friendly interactions.

Reservations were straightforward, with no hidden costs, and the prices were lower than hotels and motels. Each room has its own character, and homemade pastries, coffee, and water are always available. The hosts are only a text away. It felt like staying at grandma's house, with historic Danish charm in a modern setting. The house is beautifully imperfect and gave us a few giggles. If you want a hotel or motel atmosphere, this isn't the place. But if you want a home away from home, somewhere peaceful to relax and read, it is.

Darlene is charming and thoughtful, and her recommendations were great. There are good places to eat within a safe walk, including our favorite BBQ. Parking was easy, and attractions like the Kimbell are less than 15 minutes away. The coffee is excellent, too. Of the many B&Bs we've tried, this was our most pleasant experience. Breakfast was an advanced lesson in the variety of Danish pastry.
