Fairfield Inn & Suites Frankfort

Everything was good, and there was hardly any noise despite the construction. I would've liked to know about the work ahead of time, though. For breakfast, some pastries or muffins, maybe banana nut or blueberry, would've been nice. Also, for two days they were out of regular coffee for my room.

We returned through Frankfort later that same week, after a few days in Bardstown, and paid more for the nearby Springhill suites. I'm usually loyal to Marriotts, and this one didn't measure up. At check-in around 9 pm, the keys weren't ready and the staff member was dealing with some kind of system problem, so it took about ten minutes. The Wi-Fi was spotty and dropped us several times while we were working remotely, which rarely happens at Marriotts. There was also a strange, strong smell, a bit like pool chlorine but stronger than normal.

It's a nice, updated hotel with free hot breakfast. Still, the $150 per night AAA rate didn't feel like a bargain for a place outside a tourist area. The legislature was in session, though, so maybe that explains the price.

We picked this hotel for its proximity to the distilleries we were visiting. The location was fantastic, around 10-15 minutes from good bourbon distilleries and restaurants. The rooms could use modernization, so I can't give it five stars, but we spent most of the day on tours and it wasn't a big deal. I'd book again because of the price and location.
