Super 8 Franklin

The cleanliness and condition were poor. The walls were filthy, the doors weren't cared for, and there were holes in both my bathroom door and a wall. There were many issues, mostly minor cosmetic ones but numerous. I refused to sit on the furniture because white liquid stains ran down the front of it. Draw your own conclusions, and see my videos. Would you sit in that chair? When I arrived and went to shower, there was no hot water. I asked why and was told, “It does this, this time of year.” I don't see what the calendar has to do with a water heater. The property feels like a you-get-what-you-pay-for place. I haven't seen breakfast yet, but the breakfast area is closet-sized, so my expectations are low. This clearly isn't one of the better hotels and doesn't seem to be professionally maintained.

The rooms are clean, and the bed is super comfortable. When my toilet clogged, the woman at the desk came up at 2:30 a.m. and worked hard to clear it. Later that day, staff checked back to make sure there were no further problems, and they had to remove a tin lid that a previous guest must have flushed. The staff are exceptionally professional and kind. I'll stay here every time I'm in the area for work, and I'd recommend it to everyone except mean people, who can go somewhere else. The room was clean and neat, and the staff were more than friendly. The building may not look like much from outside, but the late-night woman at the desk was especially polite and helpful. I was looking for chocolate late at night, and when she saw I hadn't found any, she shared some from her personal stash. That small kindness went above and beyond. Thank you for making my evening.

The room was nothing like the pictures. Curtains and chairs had holes, all three lamps had rust across their silver-colored bases, and the wood furniture was scarred and discolored. The baseboard trim was separating from the walls. The blanket was old and rough, and all five pillows were flatter than pancakes. The refrigerator and microwave sat directly on the floor. This is by far the worst place I've stayed. If I'd seen the room before paying, I would've tried one of the other two motels across the street.
