We only needed about four hours of sleep before getting back on the road, but this was the worst motel stay I’ve had. The bathroom had four bulbs over the sink and just one worked. A glass shelf above the faucet blocked the handle, so only a trickle came out. In the morning, I tried to shower in the small stall, but the rusty water never cleared, even after I let it run for around five minutes. It pooled about eight inches deep and was so dark I couldn’t see the floor. Once it finally drained, sediment covered the stall. Disgusting. The manager was rude and wouldn’t compensate us because we couldn’t shower. We had to continue to our destination and spend the day out in public without one. Don’t stay here. I’d give it less than one star, but the site required me to choose at least one.

The room felt a bit musty and old. They seem to be updating it, though, with newer showers and a flat-screen TV. I’d suggest replacing the carpet, shower heads, and wall treatment. The people running the motel were really nice and gave us everything we needed for a good stay. If you’re reading this, I’d recommend staying here.

The only real plus was the $20 pet fee, compared with the $25 other places quoted us. The shower was discolored, bits of metal that seemed to come from the pipes were on the floor, and the water smelled odd. The whole stay felt sketchy, hard to explain, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you need sleep. There were 21 rooms but only about four other cars, yet someone was placed right next to us. They kept coming and going until 5 a.m., and we heard the door every time. Our dog heard it too and barked whenever it opened or closed, so we barely rested.

I live here, and it’s a sober living environment for Great Lakes Recovery. The staff and other people are nice, and they do a lot to help us rebuild our lives and work on ourselves. I’d recommend it to anyone struggling with substance abuse.

The room was cheap and fine, but checking in late was stressful. We thought we’d already paid, and when I asked the owner about the booking, he was so rude and defensive that we worried he was trying to charge us twice. His wife was patient and sweet, and helped us get it all sorted out. I’d give the stay three stars if the owner would fix his attitude.
