Studio Inn and Suites Absecon NJ, Atlantic City By OYO

Studio Inn’s staff are wonderful, and I’d recommend staying there if you’re in the Galloway or Absecon area. I’ve been treated rudely at other hotels nearby, but the people here are the nicest. The rooms are spacious and have a fridge and stovetop.

I’ve stayed for a week before and recently visited as a guest of a good friend I’ve known for over a decade. Both times it was quiet, clean, and I saw no shady activity or bunch of transients. The office sits between the motel buildings, close to every room, and staff can keep an eye on the property. There’s a grassy area away from the road for dogs, and kids can play there too if you keep watch. The rooms are well maintained, with a separate bathroom, king bed, clean tasteful linens, and plenty of seating: a table and two chairs by the kitchen, plus another table and chair beside the bed. Each studio is also an efficiency, with a full refrigerator, stove, good sized sink, cabinets, and some counter space. More kitchen counter would help, but the wall attached dining table is close enough to prep food on, so it’s not a big deal. I was impressed by all the tables and sitting space. I’m not completely sure, but it might be the only motel on the Whitehorse Pike offering efficiencies, so don’t take my word for it. The only reason I gave four stars is the rooms are obviously old and outdated and could use an upgrade. Still, it’s conveniently near Atlantic City, and I’d definitely stay again.

The woman was rude and unprofessional, and they couldn’t keep their prices straight. They quoted one amount on the phone, then another in person, tried to charge for my kids, and then said kids weren’t allowed. The rooms aren’t even that great, and they don’t know how to talk to customers. They deserve no stars.

We were meant to spend three nights here for our anniversary, but ended up asking for a refund after seeing three dirty rooms that smelled of smoke. Furniture was held together with duct tape, sheets had holes and cigarette burns, pillowcases were dirty, the bathroom sink was clogged, and there were rusty spots all over the floors. The appliances were worn and rusty too. The cabinets were bare, and I had to go to the office for cookware. What I got was one dirty plate, a pan, a pot, and two cooking utensils, but no cups or metal silverware. I also had to pay $1 for a room key.
