Towneplace Suites By Marriott Memphis Germantown

The room was clean and new, though I took one star off because the latch was so easy to trip from inside. My yellow lab locked himself in the room, and it took 90 minutes to get the door open. Ashley, Ashley, Natacia and Jerry were incredibly understanding and helpful throughout. They were caring and thoughtful with me, and showed real concern for my dog. I was impressed by the beautiful, impeccable hotel. Huge thanks to the TPS staff!

The eggs weren't good at all. Maybe they were powdered or something. Aside from that, everything was great. The staff, including housekeeping, were wonderful. They had me laughing and feeling good about the start of my day.

This was our second year celebrating my daughter's birthday with a sleepover here, and last year's stay with the same six girls went well. Staff were welcoming, helpful, and respectful then. This time, at TownePlace Suites Memphis Germantown, we felt unwelcome from the moment we checked in. Josh at the front desk had a negative attitude right away. Even ordinary requests, like extra towels for children who'd just come out of the pool, were treated as a problem, though we'd paid nearly $300 for the suite. The master bedroom was extremely hot, and after we called several times, nobody came to fix the AC. Instead, we got complaints, even though the girls weren't loud or disruptive and had been told to respect the other guests. The part that upset me most was Josh speaking directly to the children instead of to the adult who booked the room. Soon after, we were given 30 minutes to leave, so several of my daughter's friends had to go home early and her birthday celebration was disrupted. I don't make accusations lightly, but the way we were treated felt discriminatory. The contrast with the previous year was hard to ignore, and it was difficult not to feel that race played a role in how our group, as Black guests, was handled. No family should feel singled out or unwelcome because of who they are. I won't return, and I urge management to address how guests are treated so another family doesn't go through this.

My wife and I spent almost four weeks here while relocating to the Germantown area. Logan especially stood out for finding solutions to the things I asked about, and he served our needs well. The front desk staff were among the best I've dealt with, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about local services.
