The free breakfast was a great surprise for this price, with the basics laid out neatly and a homey feel. The food was pretty great too. Service stood out: staff knew my name, were personable, and helped without a fuss. The Frontier Lodge feels like it understands hospitality. I choose hotels based on reviews, and this is easily one of the best I’ve stayed at. A resort or pricier hotel can feel impersonal and cost a lot. Here, the location is a little outside downtown, so it’s quieter, and the buildings fit the neighborhood. My room was nice, with surprisingly comfortable pillows and a bed. The bathroom is small but functional, and I liked that it’s separated, which gives it a modern feel. There was also a microwave and fridge, though I didn’t use them. The internet worked like normal, without drops or slowdowns. For a family or solo traveler wanting good value, comfort, and practicality, this place is a great choice.
For a quick stop, I’d stay again. The price gets you a clean room, and it looks like they’re gradually remodeling. The owner and her husband take turns at the front desk and stay up all night. Breakfast was average, without eggs or bacon, but we liked the toasted bagel with cream cheese and pancakes. It’s not horrible, you get what you pay for. For a romantic or fancy getaway, spend more. Uncle's Pizza is down the street, and despite how it looks, the pizza is AMAZING!
We won’t stay here again. It was 12 degrees outside, there was no heat in room #101, and we were so cold it hurt. The female owner was nice, but said the gas fireplace in the room didn’t work and told us not to turn it on. There was no other heat, so we slept in our coats. A stain embedded in the sheets grossed us out, and the top cover was paper thin. The old cotton comforter underneath was worn and thin too. Banging from the room next door went on all night, and my nose ran from the cold. We didn’t sleep at all and should have slept in our car. We also had to pay a $50 deposit at check-in because we used a debit card, and it took two days to get it back. Breakfast was just two toasters and a microwave in the lobby. The bathroom was clean and the shower was warm, which were the only good things about the room.
It’s a fairly basic motel, but very nice for what we paid, and we’d stay again. Everything was clean and comfortable, with a nice room layout, a good shower, and double sinks. Service was good too. The continental breakfast was standard in a good way, and also had fresh-made pancakes.
For a quick one-night visit, this worked perfectly for us. We hadn’t expected much at this price, but the Frontier Lodge was a good value. The place was quiet, the bed comfortable, and we enjoyed the free continental breakfast. It’s a bit far from downtown.
