The room stayed cool in the hot weather, and the shower had strong pressure with plenty of hot water. It was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. Best blackout curtains we’ve ever had in a hotel: I napped in the middle of the day and the room was pitch black. If you work nights or need daytime sleep, this place would suit you. Good accommodations for a good price.
The check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly. It’s not far from downtown, but far enough away from the noise. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the blackout curtains were great. I’d recommend it for my family’s future stays.
There was no visible dirt in the room, and the water pressure and hot water were good. But the towels were only hand-towel sized. I didn’t feel safe either: there was loud yelling in the parking lot between 1 and 3 a.m. Breakfast was a joke, just a couple of granola bars and cereal that looked old. Front desk service was nonexistent, since you had to call a number. For the price, I’d never stay there again.
My daughter and I were in town for a spa visit and stayed January 9-11. The room was very clean, which impressed us, and check-in went well. They pointed out nearby places to eat and said to let them know if we needed anything. But after that, we couldn’t get basic help. There were no coffee pots in the room, so on Saturday morning my daughter went to the lobby for coffee and to see what breakfast was available. The posted weekend hours were 7-10, but the doors were locked. Someone inside got a cleaning person to open up. She couldn’t speak or understand English very well and told my daughter there was no breakfast or coffee, then started locking up again. My daughter also asked for bath tissue, Kleenex, towels, and rags, since none were in our room. We weren’t sure she understood. We left for the day assuming it would be handled, but when we got back the beds had been partly remade and none of those supplies had been left. We tried calling the lobby several times with no answer. When I went over, the door was locked again, with a sign saying staff were out on property and a number to call. Calls either went unanswered or clicked off. We grabbed a small roll of bath tissue before dinner in case we still had none, and we didn’t have any when we returned. As a gold member I could check out at 1 instead of 11, but on Sunday at 7 we tried again for breakfast and coffee. The door was locked, there was no breakfast, and nobody answered the phone. We got breakfast at McDonald’s and decided we were done with the whole situation. We packed up and tried to check out around 9, needing a receipt. Again the lobby was locked, and calls to the number went unanswered or hung up. On the last try a rude man answered. He told me to leave the keys at the door; I said I needed my receipt. He mumbled something and said he’d be there in five minutes. About 15 minutes later, a younger man came, unlocked the door, got my keys from the desk, and gave me the receipt. When I complained about the missing breakfast both days and the supplies that never came, he said he didn’t know anything about it. An older man came out from the back without shoes, then turned around and went back. The younger man claimed there had been breakfast on Sunday and that we must have missed it. I reminded him the hours were 7-10 and we’d come down at 7:15 to locked doors and no food. It was almost 9:30 as he said this, and when I pointed that out, he looked stunned, as if he knew he’d lied. The room itself was cleaner than most we’ve had, but other rooms at other places at least had tissue and fresh towels. Even so, those stays rate better than the Days Inn in Gonzales, Tx. We were beyond disappointed in the Days Inn.
The manager was friendly and gave me helpful information about town. I work overnight, so the blackout curtains were a big plus. I loved the room.
