Forest Lake Motel

The room was full apartment size, which I don’t find very often, and I loved having a fridge for picnic supplies and leftovers we couldn’t take along. It had an attractive north woods look, and the staff, especially housekeeping, were happy to work with our needs. I left notes for them and got notes back, which I hope they enjoyed as much as I did. It was comfortable and laid-back, easy to reach from US 2, and a great base for exploring a lot of N.MN. I’d love to stay here again.

It’s peaceful even though it’s in town, with a great spot by the lake. The staff and owners were friendly and understanding, and there’s plenty of parking. The rooms are clean, prices are reasonable, and it’s pet friendly. A great place to stay!

On the first night, I started feeling itchy all over. I pulled back the blankets and sheets and found tiny bugs crawling on me and biting me. I told the housekeeper when she came to clean, but the front office never did anything. I also saw two mice. I wasn’t offered a refund despite the rodents and bed bugs. I hope this place gets shut down. My boyfriend had reserved the room for us and our stay in rapids, so no, my name isn’t on the reservation. Please read your comments better. You chose to believe your staff over customers when they report problems the housekeepers ignore or are rude about. There was no one at the front office when I voiced my concern.

The room had a queen and a double bed, a cable TV, and a studio size refrigerator. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean though dated, and the staff were helpful and nice. My only concern was that the doorknob lock was the door’s only lock. (See picture)
