UPDATE: We left two days early after finding a roach at least an inch long. People were leaving trash bags on the stair landings instead of taking them to the dumpster, and the stairwells and floors constantly smelled of marijuana, even though the property is supposed to be non smoking. Around 5pm, as we were trying to leave, the smell was especially bad near the lobby desk. I lowered my ratings to two stars overall and one for service. They kept trying to bill me for a prepaid room and didn’t return my deposit. There was no refund for the two nights we left early, which we’d more or less expected. We just wanted out, and I wish I’d taken a picture of the roach. We needed a full kitchen because we expected to be in Greenville for a week or more. The room was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable bed. The kitchen was roomy with good storage, a full size refrigerator, stove, and oven, though it needed some cleaning. My friend slept comfortably on the couch instead of using the pullout. But there were no elevators or regular entrance stairs, only emergency stairs at either end and an old, narrow, steep staircase in the middle. My poor friend made six or more trips to the third floor with our luggage and purchases. This hotel isn’t handicap friendly. There were also no pots, pans, utensils, or dishes, so we spent another $60 at Walmart for those and cleaning supplies. You have to take out your own trash and go down the steep stairs to exchange towels and bedding at the front desk. Staffing was light, so there was some waiting. Debra was our contact and worked hard to accommodate us, she deserves five stars. The Extended Stay was being or had been bought by Motel 6, so I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.
