Pacific Inn

The room and bathroom were clean, and having a coffee maker and microwave was wonderful. We reheated leftovers and made breakfast in the room. The person who checked us in was very polite, helpful, and nice, though I can’t remember who it was. It worked great for a weekend at the beach, and we’d definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

It’s clean, nice, decent, and affordable, so it gets five stars from me. My one concern was the door handle lock didn’t have an extra top deadbolt to stop the door opening from inside. That felt scary with my two toddlers, but wedging the desk chair against the door took care of it 😅

The shower had hot water and decent pressure, and the bed was fairly comfortable, even more so if you bring your own pillows. The room had what I needed, including a microwave and refrigerator, and check-in was very quick. I picked Pacific inn for its convenient location after a long drive, but only realized after booking that it was a two-star motel, so I knew to lower my expectations. It’s definitely old and the exterior could use updating. The rooms have had recent work, but it looks like a rushed landlord special: grey paint slopped on every vertical surface without fixing anything first, grey vinyl flooring, and an all-grey tiled bathroom. The furniture is the same old two-tone brown with mismatched granite-looking tops, and the headboard is chipped and peeling. The towels and sheets are mismatched shades of white. Sleep was difficult because there’s no soundproofing. My room was above the ice machine, so I heard every cube drop, along with footsteps and conversations. It’s also near a busy road, and I heard every passing vehicle. I tried running the wall AC to cover the noise, but it was far too loud to sleep with, leaving the room stuffy as well as noisy. The refrigerator kept clicking on and running through the night, and across the street a condo complex is being built. Twelve guys started hammering in unison at 7 a.m. sharp. If I’d known all this before booking, I definitely would’ve stayed somewhere else.

The room was clean and had AC. It’s conveniently located for the dunes and pier, with plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. The service was nice and accommodating. I’ll stay here again.
