Janmere Motel

The room was fairly clean and updated, and the location was great. My son used the pool, which looked pretty clean too. But it’s still a motel at the ocean, and the price felt high for what it was. We stayed one night, and the beds were quite uncomfortable. The room was labeled 2 Queen Deluxe, but the beds seemed like doubles and felt small. There was enough room for two kings or a king and a queen, which would have been better.

I had to cancel my booking when my work trip was called off. The reservation had free cancellation, but they returned the money minus $35. They said it was due to the credit card refund, then later claimed they’d refunded the whole amount, ignoring their earlier message. They’ve been ghosting me for over a month and don’t seem to care about customers. Stay away.

The staff were great, and the place felt more upscale than the other nearby motels. Rooms had beachy vibes, there was free coffee around the clock, and the Casino Ballroom was right behind it, with everything else close by too. It’s one block from the beach, with gas grills on site and designated smoking areas. The pool was very clean, too.

This was our second stay at the Janmere, and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the location worked well for the beach and shops. When it rained, the ping pong area gave the kids a great place to hang out, and they loved the cookies at the front desk. The owner was helpful, responsive, and accommodating. We’ll be back next year.
