SHIPS INN Hotel

The customer service was terrible, and the rooms felt unsafe and disgusting. The bathroom door barely opened, a broken window and door handle needed attention, and the place was heated with space heaters. It was so dirty, and they overcharged my card, disrupting my bank account over a holiday. I couldn’t book another hotel after traveling three hours to get there with my sick spouse and child. There was no Wi-Fi because we were too far from the office.

We had no heat, and the person checking us in was rude. At 2 AM, we got back and couldn’t turn the heat on. There were no blankets, just a thin bedspread. At checkout they asked why we hadn’t called. Who would be there at 2 AM? It had already taken three hours for someone to show up and check us in. We stay in Hampton Beach often, and this was the worst hotel.

We’ve just stayed here for the first time, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. The staff gave us outstanding service, especially Ya Ya at the front desk, who went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. The young man in housekeeping also gave us 100-plus percent. Our room was very clean and spacious, the bed was super comfortable, and there were lots of TV channels for a quiet evening in. We loved the pools as a place to relax after the beach, and used the nicely landscaped barbecue area every day. Thanks, Ships Inn, for such a great stay and care from the staff. I highly recommend it!

In my 35 years of staying in hotels, this was the worst one. Our room had no heat Saturday night, and the shower curtain rod fell on me while I was showering. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the rugs were filthy. The staff, who seemed to be only one or two people, had no customer service skills. I told him the curtain rod had fallen on my foot and injured me. They said they’d sent it to management, but 10 days later I still hadn’t heard back, if there even is a management team. Avoid this place, even if another hotel costs a little more.
