Hampton Motor Inn

This may be one of the best motels I’ve stayed in, though it was also the first motel I’d ever stayed at. I ended up here after losing my home. The rooms were clean, the TV was nice, and the beds were comfortable, if a little small. There was no Wi-Fi, but that didn’t matter to me. The innkeeper, Chris, was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. I loved it here and would go back if I needed to.

The room had no rods for hanging clothes, and spider webs were tucked into the corners. The bathroom was dirty and its door wouldn’t lock. We paid $130 a night, which felt nowhere near justified. Even the bed seemed like the cheapest available and made a lot of noise, while the room itself felt very dull.

The couple of nights we spent there were quiet and perfectly fine. It’s a newly acquired inn, and the owner has redone the whole place; bathrooms are his next project. There are 18 rooms, and he’s willing to help if a problem comes up. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a place near the New York-Vermont border.

We needed a simple, clean place to sleep, and this motel did the job. Chris was great about helping us get out of the storm and kept us updated on the snow conditions.
