I’ve stayed at other cheap places, and this was the bottom of the barrel. You get what you pay for. We only stayed two days, and I still can’t tell whether all this is normal for an extended stay hotel. The building’s exterior lighting looked cool at night, and the rooms being indoors made a decent first impression. That didn’t last. Staff were hardly around, and the building materials seemed low quality. The floors were a little uneven. The beds had been made cleanly, but the room smelled off and the mattress was very cheap. The fridge had rusty spots. The bathroom was tiny: the shower faucet needed recaulked, the crooked sink needed recaulked too, and the porcelain was cracked all over. The wood under the sink was peeling, and the toilet sat too low and seemed pretty lazy. The bathroom ceiling kept squeaking, with a sound like slow drops of invisible water. Moisture built up in the kitchenette area each night. The walls were hollow enough that we could easily hear footsteps above us and people talking. At one point a sketchy shirtless man at the end of the hall stared at us. Then a staff member in very unprofessional work clothes knocked and tried to say we needed to check out. He could barely get the words out and seemed afraid to do his job. We told him he had the date wrong, and he apologized. The place has a higher rating than it deserves, probably because staff encourage people to post fake reviews. Look at the bad ones. They’re not lying.

I haven’t checked in yet, that’s next Wednesday, Dec. 17. But I just got off the phone with Allison, and she was really helpful with my question. She came across as someone who wants to give guests the best service she can. I’d read reviews praising Allison, and the call made me feel comfortable enough to make a reservation right then because she seemed sincere. Management should tell her she’s doing a good job. It’s hard to find staff like her. Please tell her I said thank you for the help and well done. JEY

I’ve paid less for a hole in the wall and gotten a better place. The rooms are simple, as the website says, and the kitchenette was useful, but there was no coffee in the room or lounge. There were no lamps or mirrors in the room, cleanliness was only okay, and the shower pressure was lousy. I tried to check in 15 minutes early and understood when they couldn’t accommodate that. But I couldn’t check in on time either, which was confusing. I also couldn’t get my AAA discount because I’d forgotten to apply for it online.

Alison was wonderful. We’d spent the previous night at a hotel with no hot water, and when we arrived she was very sweet and showed us the room. We loved it. She put us in a double bed room that was very clean and neat. The reception was fabulous, the rooms were clean, and the customer service was great. Thank you so much, Alison. We’ll be staying for all of November.

Alison at the front desk made check-in quick and was kind. I’d booked a single room online, but none were available, so they upgraded me to a nice double room and kept the original booking price.
