We actually had a good time being a little rebellious, and we liked the restaurant’s food and value. Still, after spending almost $1000 there that evening, I’d have thought they might welcome our business. We’d eaten there the week before, thought it was a nice little casino, and booked a room for the drive back. After checking in, we gambled for an hour or so. The machines swallow money, but hey, it’s a casino. Later we got cigars and went to the bar, which was already full of cigarette smoke. We picked seats away from other people so our cigar smoke wouldn’t bother them. Staff clearly didn’t want us smoking cigars in the lounge. First they said we needed to buy two drinks to sit there. When we explained we’d buy another once we finished the first, they said we couldn’t sit there, but we stayed. Security came over and said it was a no-smoking area. I asked why there were ashtrays, and he grumbled and walked off. When he returned, he asked us to move to the buddy bar behind us, apparently to make his job easier. We agreed, knowing it was the weasel manager who wanted us moved. Soon after we ordered another round, the cocktail waitress told us to put out our cigars. We refused. After our third drink and finishing the cigars, we went to our rooms. A duo was playing on stage for the older, water-drinking crowd, and I’m 66. We really did enjoy the evening despite the hassle, but the casino certainly didn’t make us feel welcome.

The people are what make Skyline Hotel & Casino special. Jamie, the Front Desk Manager, was professional, calm, and genuinely helpful, making guests feel recognized and at home. Teri at the restaurant remembered my order, greeted me by name, and brought a warm kindness to the start of the day. Joe, the Casino Manager, kept things lively and welcoming, with upbeat energy and fantastic live entertainment. Desi behind the bar was friendly and attentive, and made an ordinary evening memorable. The place has a relaxed, personal feel, with local charm and the old-school warmth of Vegas. It’s clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. I felt welcome and cared for from the moment I arrived. It has a boutique feel and stands out as a Henderson destination. Skyline isn’t just somewhere to stay, it lifts your spirit. I’ll recommend it without hesitation and absolutely plan to return.

Synamen, the hostess, and our busboy were great, and we’ll come back to try the place again, hopefully with a different server. We went at 11:30 am on Thursday January 30, 2026 for the Prime Rib and Shrimp Cocktail special. The two prime rib portions were a good size and tasted good. The server seemed annoyed and just came over with, “Are you ready,” without introducing herself or anything. She said baked potatoes are available after 4 pm. The shrimp cocktails could have looked more appetizing, with shredded lettuce, lemon, and crackers.

The location was quiet and restful, away from the Strip’s noise but still close to shopping and other attractions. There was plenty of parking, and each room included a voucher for two free breakfasts a day, with a nice range of choices and generous portions. After staying at larger Vegas Strip resorts, I wanted somewhere peaceful and off the beaten path. Skyline Hotel & Casino was a great choice for charm, comfort, and value, even without the flashy look of the big-name resorts. The staff were really friendly and made an effort to get to know me, which gave the stay a personal feel. The hotel was immaculately clean, with spacious, cozy rooms and comfortable, high-quality furniture. The rooms were tastefully decorated, the beds were super comfy, and I loved the whole place’s nostalgic, old-world charm. I’m grateful to the staff for making my visit so wonderful, and can’t wait to return. Skyline Hotel & Casino has earned my loyalty for future trips.

I’ve been coming here for years. This time I got a haircut at the barber shop inside the casino near the entrance, then had the $4.45 breakfast special: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. The food was good, and that deal is hard to beat. We’ve also stayed upstairs several times. The rooms are beautiful and immaculate, and I always recommend them to people visiting.
