Rose Corner Inn

The house has such a history to it. I spent about an hour outside my room just looking at the walls and thinking about all the stories they might hold. The owner shared some stories and fun facts about the house, told us about the college and what a nice town it is. I wish I'd had more time to explore and learn more. We only stayed one night, arriving late, around 11 p.m. to midnight, and they still accommodated us. The owner was personable, kind, and super helpful. Our rooms were comfortable and well kept. I loved seeing all the different wallpapers and antiques, including a few old beauty items. The vintage clothes iron even reminded my mom of the one they used to have. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, pick this place. You won't regret it. 10/10, hope to come back!

My dad and I stayed here while my son attended a camp at the local college. Don put us in the most convenient room for my 79-year-old dad. He really cared about accommodating him. The place was beautiful and clean, and we never heard noise from the other guests. Don was kind, answered all our questions about the area, and always had breakfast ready in the morning. The host was generous with his home and time. We sat on the covered porch in the evening, where we were sheltered from mosquitoes, and there was also a library available if the weather got cold. He left us a key in case he'd locked up for the night. Breakfast was ready in the dining room for us to enjoy at our own pace: eggs, freshly cut fruit, pastries, juice, tea, and coffee. The rooms were clean and well kept, with large bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels, supplies, antiseptic wipes, and sanitizer. Rose Corner Inn is a beautiful historic place in downtown Hillsdale, and the host welcomed us warmly into his spacious home. We'll definitely stay again on our next trip to Hillsdale, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place.

We'd visited the college many times before and somehow missed this place. On our first stay, we found the interior comfortable and the 1860s mansion charming and well maintained. It's very convenient to Hillsdale College campus. We enjoyed talking with the proprietor the evening we arrived and again over breakfast. The continental breakfast had yogurt, cereal, fruit, OJ, and coffee.
