At $85, the stay felt closer to a motel experience, though that might have matched my expectations better at this price. Booking.com photos made the rooms look brighter and larger than they were; in person, they're average-sized and not very bright. The location is convenient, across from Walmart and close to a few large and small churches and some well-known attractions. The bed and pillows were good, WiFi was strong, the TV had enough channels, and breakfast was available. Parking is cramped, especially if the place is full, and the surroundings weren't very clean. The breakfast room can seat only about five families at once, and by 8:30 the food was cold. The selection was limited to sausage, eggs, and the usual bread, cereal, and muffins. Our welcome towels were torn, the bathroom door wouldn't lock, and the toiletries amounted to one bar of sink soap and one shampoo bottle, without shower gel or body lotion. Overall, the room size, lighting, and facilities didn't live up to the photos or feel worth the money.

Our large family fit comfortably in the room, thanks to its generous space and three queen beds. The sink and mirror area was large too. We also found the location handy, with Walmart less than 0.2 miles away and Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Starbucks, and other places to eat nearby. The area isn't the most polished, but we felt comfortable there. Breakfast was basic yet adequate. For the price, it was a solid, functional place to stay.

For the price, I think this place does pretty well. It's right across the street from a wally-world, if that's your thing. The breakfast could be better, and the rooms aren't really soundproof.

The main problem was the way staff handled a basic request for towels. There were four of us in a room with two queen beds, but only two towel sets. We arrived at 12:30 a.m., too late to go back to the desk, and when my mother called at 8:30 the next morning, the attendant told her to “use what she had” and wait until the housekeeper came after 10. She explained we were leaving soon and needed towels, but got nowhere, so she handed me the phone. The man asked how many people were in the room, then seemed to realize that two sets weren't enough. I was relieved not to have to argue further over a reasonable request. We had booked the room so we could shower, rest, and be ready for our cruise after driving to Galveston from Houston. We paid for the stay, and towels are as basic as beds and bathrooms. I've stayed in five, four, three, and even 2.5 star hotels, including during tight-budget years in college and law school, and I've never encountered this or had trouble asking for extra towels. Guests might need another shower or use a towel to clean up a spill. Telling paying guests to make do is rude and poor hospitality. The owner, manager, and front desk team need proper customer service training. The breakfast was also disappointing: there was no water for guests who don't drink coffee or juice. People need water to stay hydrated, and I've never seen a hotel buffet without it. The whole place gave the impression that basic supplies were being withheld and that good service wasn't valued. There are plenty of other hotels around Hobby Airport and in Houston, Texas. Do not stay here.
