Howard Johnson by Wyndham Houston Hobby Airport

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. After getting my key, I walked into the room and found a cockroach on the bed. The front desk moved me to another room, which was better than the first but still in very bad shape. It wasn’t properly cleaned, the shower curtain had mold, the bedding was stained, and the room overall was run down. The photos on Google and the app are very misleading compared with the actual rooms. Save your time and money and stay somewhere else.

Don’t stay here. The check-in window at night felt scary, the parking lot had people loitering and didn’t feel safe, and the area smelled bad. The room door was badly broken and could be opened without a key. The mattress and bedsheet had lots of cigarette burns, and the bathroom was disgusting. I cancelled without a refund and went to another hotel.

We paid nearly $80 for a room where the AC didn’t work and the sheets were dirty. A worker came into the room while my husband and I were having sex, because they’d left a vacuum in there the day before. He just proceeded to come in without knocking first to see if anyone was inside. It was embarrassing, and I was furious. Breakfast was awful, with stale cereal and warm, rotten milk. Everything else was okay, but it could’ve been better. Someone really needs to look into this place immediately. They’re lucky it even gets one star, since the system wouldn’t let me give zero. I don’t recommend it to anybody.

I picked this hotel for its location while visiting Houston for a job interview. Before I left that morning, the receptionist went out of her way to wish me luck. When I came back tired but happy, my room had been cleaned and neatly organized. That thoughtful touch made me feel cared for and gave me the rest and confidence I needed for such an important trip.
