The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas

The room was ordinary, though the bed was comfortable. Most of the stay felt like being charged extra at every turn, including almost $80 for parking over three nights and a $5 fee just to bring room service to us. That food arrived in a brown paper bag with takeaway containers, no plates, trays, or cart. We paid nearly $300 a night for a place advertised as four-star. With the weather keeping us iced in and nearby businesses closed, we had to depend on the hotel’s food. Breakfast at Mesa Mescal was a basic buffet of eggs, potatoes, meat, grits, toast, and a weak pastry selection, yet it cost $18 per person. I assumed it was complimentary based on its quality and presentation. Cheaper hotels have given us more choice and better food, like pancakes and waffles. Ordering breakfast to the room the next day didn’t help. It was bland, and the full and half portions of guacamole were the same size. The food, service, and fees made the visit poor value, and I wouldn’t recommend it to someone looking for quality.

Cindy in the lounge and Keyshawn at valet are the people who really make this place shine. Cindy kept the lounge stocked with snacks and drinks and made sure we had what we needed. The staff overall were friendly, though a couple of desk interactions felt a little curt. I got the sense that those moments were about those individuals, not the whole desk team. The hotel is easy to spot from the road and has access from two directions, with accessible parking and facilities. There’s plenty of parking, and the valet handled things well even when busy. The bathrooms and the rest of the hotel, including the rooms and hallways, were impressively clean. The food and snacks were good, too. Its location near local places and facilities works well for me.

The 14th-floor Westin Club lounge has lovely views and is kept in excellent shape, but Ms Cindy is what made it feel special to me. After a long conference day, her calm presence helped me unwind. At breakfast, her thoughtful conversation made an ordinary meal feel like a real human connection, and I left in a better frame of mind. She greets people warmly, remembers preferences, and offers help before anyone has to ask. Her kindness feels genuine, and she brings an easy smile along with it. The food and drinks are excellent, but Ms Cindy is the feature I’ll remember most about the Westin Irving Convention Center. If you visit the club, you’ll find more than complimentary snacks. Thank you, Ms Cindy, for being such a bright spot.

The fries came out hot, crisp, and just salty enough, and I kept reaching for more. I also liked the fresh chicken Caesar salad, especially since it wasn’t drowning in dressing. The pasta was comforting and tasty, simple but satisfying. I had a very relaxed little “girl dinner” at The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. The place felt polished and clean without trying too hard, so it was easy to unwind and feel a bit put together. Cute, simple, and worth it for a quiet solo evening or a catch-up with a friend.
