Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Jackson, TN

We keep coming back after trying other places. We've stayed here off and on for months, and when we're away from Jackson, we can't find anything like it. I'd rather drive over, even when we don't need to be in Jackson, than struggle through another stay elsewhere. It's a simple place to shower, relax, and sleep. Clean and safe, with friendly, accommodating, peaceful staff. Nick at the front desk even spent an afternoon this winter helping dig and push my car out of the ice. He's a super dope guy. The TV is good, there's a microwave and fridge, the bathroom is bigger, and the beds aren't bad. If something's wrong or you need help, they gotcha. I've never seen bugs or mold. It isn't a five star hotel, but I've paid more for much less.

The front desk refused to refund me even though I stayed less than an hour, so I left for another hotel down the street. I tried to give the place a chance, but it was smelly and nothing like the photos. You could hear clear conversations from next door, the lighting was harsh, the tub didn't look clean, there was nasty stuff on the mirrors, and the building seemed questionable. The outside wasn't maintained, with pet mess everywhere, and the hallways, lobby, and breakfast area were just as gross. Keep the breakfast. This place ripped me off. Don't do it.

Pretty decent, not too bad, but it did smell. Maybe it was temporary, though it absolutely stank. A little Febreze got it smelling okay. The sheets were clean, service was fast, and the coffee was great.

The price is pretty good, and the small room was comfortable once I fell asleep. The window seat above the AC/heater has a beautiful view of the roof awnings. The mirrors, switches, and outlets are more high-tech than in many hotels at this price, though the room is cramped, the TV appliance area looked poorly cleaned, the Wi-Fi was slower than my mobile data, and the shower was weak. The bed springs were among the loudest I've heard, popping from every side when I turned. Since it was a holiday, there were lots of footsteps above, but things got quiet after midnight. Some homeless people seemed to be living in the parking lot. That night I didn't see fresh broken glass or anything vandalized, though my Jeep's passenger mirror was tilted farther in than I'd left it. I slept like a rock once I got to sleep. Recently I rebooked, but the guys at the front desk couldn't work out how to open a room, even with my online booking confirmation. I lost all respect for the hotel and won't spend another penny there.
