The room was dirty throughout, from the grimy windows and broken blinds to the questionable bedding that looked thrown together. The bathroom was in disrepair, and the shower couldn't be used. There were no tissues, drinking water, or glasses, and the coffee cups were stained and unclean. The soap and shampoo were cheap, too. This could be a beautiful historic hotel, but in its current condition I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The location at Orth House is hard to beat, with Good Bean, La Fiesta, and the Bella (Union) just steps away. We picked the pet-friendly Ellen's Hideaway and would definitely book it again. Remotion Wine's Tasting Room uses part of the historic house, with two guest suites upstairs and Ellen's Hideaway on the ground floor. The room is roomy and cozy, and the king bed was the most comfortable we've ever had in a rental. The bathroom is small but works fine. The garden and patio are right outside the door, but they close by 8pm at the latest, so things are quiet. We were out enjoying JVille most of the time anyway.
