Jamestown Motel

Really liked the feel of our room, and the owner was great. The price was fair, too. They even gave us coffee and a honey bun in the morning. Just right for a quick stop :)

The owner was very nice, and the room was clean. Still, it felt cramped, especially with that old oversized chair and ottoman in the way. The bed seemed okay at first, then the mattress slid off its frame. There was no ventilation, and the door lock looked easy to break. The whole place had an hourly-rental feel to it. With cracks in the walls, rusted baseboards, and a generally run-down condition, I’m pretty sure the place ought to be condemned. We should’ve stayed at a rest stop.

We were grateful the owner let us stay with our senior cat, even though the motel doesn’t normally accept pets because a room had been damaged before. We had promised to keep our cat contained in his carrier, and the owner put us in a room that had already had some carpet replaced and small repairs after pet damage. He was kind about making an exception, and we walked through the room with him before leaving the next morning. Everything went smoothly. The room and bathroom were clean, though the beds weren’t especially comfortable. It was quiet, and parking just six feet from the door was very convenient for us. We were three adults traveling with the cat, and needed outside-entry rooms for my disabled mother after a long day of driving in June. It was exactly what we needed for one night, and we travel this route often enough that we’ll come back.

I’ve been here for work for two months straight and haven’t had a single problem. The room was a nice size and cozy, and the place is clean and decent for a motel. The owner is incredibly nice, and the price is easily the best in town if you need a place without spending too much.
