We came on a very busy Friday, with an event at the Wing’s Center and the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade. The staff greeted us warmly. Our booked room wasn’t available, but they upgraded us. Breakfast was great, with eggs, hash browns, Canadian ham, waffles, pastries, yogurt, and cereal. The breakfast room was spacious and comfortable. The pool and gym looked good, though we didn’t use them. We didn’t have any trouble with airport noise next door, and the location was convenient.

Management was awful. They charged fees without telling me. The front desk clerk said she wouldn’t charge a deposit, then the manager told her to do it. When I confronted them, they lied and put me on the do-not-book list because I was upset about money being taken without my permission. I called corporate, and they gave me 20,000 points, but that still doesn’t make up for what they did.

Last week, bed bugs bit my arm and neck. I reported it to the hotel, but haven’t received anything so far. If bed bugs are a dealbreaker for you, I can’t recommend this place.

The location is good, the rooms are clean, and the price is fair. The continental breakfast was great. Parking is limited, though, and the lot isn’t suitable for large vehicles or campers.

I booked through Priceline, but when I arrived to check in, they said I couldn’t stay because of someone named Jess. I hadn’t done anything to them, and the manager couldn’t explain why I was being turned away. I feel like they don’t like Black people. I wouldn’t go there if you’re a person of color.
