Hampton Inn Kansas City - Liberty

The room was clean and nice, and most things about the stay were good. The beds, though, felt like cardboard, which really let me down. Staff were friendly, but at our check-in around 6 p.m. the woman at the front desk was smoking right outside the entrance, so walking in meant breathing it in.

The front desk staff were lovely, and Squire was especially personable and had plenty of stories. The room and bed were pretty standard. Since pets are allowed, I did notice a very faint animal smell in the room, though I'm unusually sensitive to that sort of thing.

I stayed here for a long stretch this summer, and the staff were friendly to the point of being almost too helpful. They were ready with answers, local stories, and tips about what was going on. Also, those fresh baked cookies! There’s plenty of free parking, lots of outdoor room for activities, and food and other conveniences are very close. The pool was great when I could get it to myself, and the laundry facilities were dependable and well maintained. One thing I noticed over time was a strong cigarette smell developing in the hallway.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were really friendly. My one gripe was breakfast starting late. When I travel, I like to get an early start and have time to sit and relax before the day begins.
