Holiday Inn Kansas City Downtown by IHG

This has become my regular place whenever work brings me to Kansas City. I travel often, and the staff have been friendly and professional each time. Check-in is quick, the rooms are spotless, and the lobby is always clean and inviting. Isaac made a strong impression on my first work trip here by being so helpful and accommodating. The cleanliness and his service are what made me come back. It’s hard to find this kind of comfort and consistency, and I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Harry's Country Club, beside the Blue Line, was a fun spot to sit outside in the sunshine, and the walk to the river and nearby watering holes was nice. Back at the hotel, the exercise room was solid and breakfast was great, with delicious coffee and plenty of conveniences. The staff made the stay feel special. Isaac welcomed us at check-in, Quentin found us extra bedding, and Phoebe was pleasant and helpful at both the bar and breakfast. Before we left, Sasia gave us detailed printouts with a kind smile. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Loved it here. Thank you IHG.

Edit: I need to add something about the restaurant. I sat down with a menu and waited 10 minutes, then 25 minutes total without being approached or acknowledged. I gave up and went to get something from the store. The younger bartender with curly hair, Jimmy, was at the front desk, so I said, "Next time, if there's something I need to do to order, let me know." He said he hadn't seen me, that I was with another group, or that I was there for the buffet. I said he could have asked instead of ignoring me. Then he asked for my room number and said, "I'll make sure you're out of here tonight." I’ve never been threatened for trying to order food. Everything else had been great, so I honestly can’t believe this happened, or that he threatened to kick me out like it was something he did regularly. Before that, this was one of the best Holiday Inns I’ve stayed in. I’d put it alongside the nicest Indigos and Intercontinentals, just smaller. The bright, clean lobby had a well-stocked store, and my room was perfectly clean, with little touches that made it feel like a vacation instead of a work trip. Isaac and Stefany made the experience amazing. I’ll be back in Kansas City and had planned to book here for each stay.

Emily was AMAZING. We got in around 4am a couple days ago, worn out from traveling from Texas with even farther to go, and she went above and beyond to help my son and me. She was so kind and warm hearted, a beautiful soul. She deserves a raise, for real! It took us a minute to get settled, but I wanted to make sure I reviewed the hotel and Emily. Thanks again, Emily!
