Comfort Inn & Suites Knoxville West

The first room smelled strongly of pee, and the lights between the beds didn’t work, so I rejected it. The second was only a little better. It didn’t smell like pee, but it still had an odor, the comforter had stains, and a bathroom lamp fixture was broken. This was one of the worst Comfort Inns I’ve stayed in, actually the worst. The place needs serious repairs and refreshing. I’ll be talking with management, and I’m done with Comfort Inns.

I wasn’t there long enough to really use the services, which is why I gave service four stars, but I saw employees smiling and Kumar directing a tight, efficient, professional, clean ship. I was in the Marine Corps, and I can see that Kumar understands how to find a happy medium in an environment that can be uncaring or even hostile. Hotels aren’t known for guests appreciating nice service people. This was the first truly hot breakfast I’ve had, even before Covid. I’ll be back, and this is now going to be my go-to place.

The location is great, right off the interstate and next to the mall. Probably the best budget hotel around Knoxville. The staff were awesome and very helpful from the moment I walked in. My room was clean and comfortable, with clean sheets and a clean bathroom. The bed was comfortable too. Not much more you could ask for.

I hardly ever leave reviews, especially bad ones, but people should know: avoid this hotel. Within two minutes of entering the room, we saw two roaches, one on the ceiling by the door and another on the bathroom wall. The room smelled strongly musty, and when I went to shower I saw several patches of black mold on the ceiling. There was no TV remote. I told the desk attendant we’d be out for several hours, and she said she’d take care of it while we were gone. She asked whether we wanted the room serviced, and I said yes, please. When we returned, there was still no remote and the room hadn’t been serviced. That evening, the lobby and hallways smelled like sewage. The room needs a lot of care and updating. I wish I could get a refund. I definitely won’t return.
