Hawthorn Extended Stay By Wyndham Knoxville

Ford made us feel welcome, and breakfast was great. The dining room was clean and spacious, and our room and beds were roomy and comfortable. One useful difference to know: Hawthorn rooms have a kitchenette, while La Quinta rooms don’t.

We booked on the day and paid quite a bit less than at nearby hotels. It’s nothing fancy, but it was quiet and clean, with a good breakfast buffet. I’d stay here again next time I’m in Knoxville.

The location, staff, and property were all excellent during our four-day stay. It looked like the place had been remodeled recently. My travel partner needed an accessible room, though, and we were surprised to find a standard tub you have to step over instead of a walk-in shower. There were several grab bars and a bench, but getting in and out was difficult. The tub also became very slippery when wet and soapy. Something on the bottom to help with traction would have been welcome.

The elevator is still a little odd, but it works. The floor indicator lights have apparently been acting up for a year, so I guess that’s just how they operate now. The rooms were large, clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. We’d stay again.
