Boardwalk Suites Lafayette

We arrived around 11 p.m. and got a room badly in need of repair and renovation. At least the beds were clean and there were no bugs, but everything else felt thrown together, with mismatched beds and furniture. The lock and door seemed questionable. The bathtub was dirty and unusable, and the spout looked carelessly plastered back on. It only gave a small stream of water, so you might as well bathe outside in the rain. It also seems more like an extended-stay place. Neighbors were loud all night, going back and forth between rooms. In the morning, about three kids, roughly half my mom's age, hit on her and made her uncomfortable. I wouldn't come back. We should've booked the more expensive chain hotel.

I don't understand these bad reviews. People stay here for weeks and have no problems, then leave and post complaints after they've destroyed the rooms. Some get mad about dog fees, don't clean up their dog's hair, or leave a mess. We show guests the rooms and check them, and they say everything is good before staying. Our rooms are clean and comfortable, the property is safe, and our staff are kind, loving, and friendly. Some guests steal towels, pillows, lamps, and food, then complain about the rooms. We've even helped homeless people and their families and kids. People need to stop with all this madness.

The shower wasn't usable: the hot water valve was sealed shut, and the cold handle was disconnected from the valve and spun freely. There was roach feces along the walls and floor, and hairs on the sheets. I booked two nights and neither has been refunded. I've called Latasha and Brandon at the front desk and emailed the manager, Jason, about a refund, but haven't received a response. I included pictures of what I found. This is a parish health issue.

The owner and manager Mike are really responsive when you need something. They're super chill, and I have no complaints about the hotel. I'd definitely recommend it.
