Room 316 was enormous, with two queen beds and a pullout sofa, plenty for the three adults in my family. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, and the shower was big enough for me at 6'4. I liked the shampoo and body wash dispensers, since those little hotel soap bars often aren’t enough. There were two large TVs, one in the bedroom and one by the couch in the kitchen area. The fridge was a little smaller than a standard home one, but much bigger than a mini fridge; it kept our drinks cold and our ice cream frozen. There was also a dishwasher with a cleaning tab, a full size oven, and a microwave. Even though we stayed only one night, I can see how someone staying for weeks would be comfortable here. We were driving from Mobile, AL, and chose Lafayette for an overnight rest on the way to New Iberia, where we were celebrating my son’s 27th birthday with a tour of the Tabasco factory. stayAPT Suites may have been our best choice of lodging. We arrived shortly after 3 p.m. and Jheah greeted us warmly. During check-in, a computer glitch came up, and she brought Elizabeth in to help. Both were courteous, welcoming, and kept the conversation going, which made the process pleasant. I hadn’t stayed with this company before, but I’ll come back here and look for its other properties when I travel. Thanks, Jheah and Elizabeth, for making our Lafayette visit memorable.

I liked the idea of a home style place away from home, but the stay didn’t live up to it. The property was dirty when I came in, and my boyfriend got sick the day after we slept there because the room felt so stuffy. There were also homeless men crowding the entrance when I arrived, which made getting my key from the box uncomfortable. My first contact with Lisa by phone wasn’t pleasant either. She seemed annoyed while I was asking simple questions, like I was a bother.

We showed up with 12 kids and a lot of anxiety after a stressful start to the trip, when the Beta Convention had booked us into a motel. We badly needed somewhere safe for them, and Elizabeth at the front desk turned things around. She found rooms for everyone and immediately made me feel reassured and cared for. Her patience, kindness, and professionalism made all the difference. We had a wonderful stay, and Elizabeth was the shining light of the hotel. I can’t thank her enough for going above and beyond for our group.

It felt like staying in an apartment of my own. The suite was very clean, had a great layout, and everything I needed. I’ll stay again. Thanks, Thomas Langlois.
