TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lake City

Michael greeted me promptly at check-in and gave me coupons for the Texas Roadhouse right next door. Parking was plentiful, and the hotel was very quiet at night. I liked the comfortable bed, being able to control the AC, and the handy kitchenette with dishwasher. I had to go downstairs to get a refill bottle of shower gel. I can't say much about breakfast.

The spacious room had a lovely kitchen, open layout, and beautiful bathroom, and the hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. But we left disappointed and won't stay again. The bed was so uncomfortable that both of us had back pain. The shower looked gorgeous but was dangerously slippery when wet, and I slipped and fell twice. Our room stayed uncomfortably warm because the AC didn't work properly. I called the front desk several times over two days, but nobody came to fix it. The first man said maintenance would come, but they didn't. The woman at the desk the next morning was rude and dismissive, said she'd report it, apparently didn't, and another employee gave the same response after I tried a third time. Housekeeping never cleaned the room even though we left by 10:00 AM. Then on checkout morning, when checkout was noon, housekeeping started banging on the door at 9:30 and trying to get in. Breakfast was very poor, and we threw it away. I booked at $165 a night, but when I called to confirm, I was told the rate had dropped to $156 and my reservation would be updated. At checkout, I was charged the higher amount. For what we paid, we expected more comfort and better service.

Sgt. Shortie McQuackin Wagon, Quack Control, has been staying at TownePlace Suites in Lake City on his work rotations since it opened in January 2025, and the experience has been wonderful. The team were kind, attentive, and ready to help from the moment he arrived. His suite was spotless and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen that worked well for both work and relaxing. He also enjoyed the pool, BBQ grill, and weight room. The thoughtful touches made the hotel feel welcoming, and he's looking forward to coming back for future adventures. Thanks to the great team!

The hotel is modern and new, and getting to it from the Interstate is easy. We had a nice breakfast with hot choices, and our room included a microwave and fridge, handy for longer stays. There was also a ten percent coupon for the Texas Roadhouse next door.
