Sunlight coming through the skylight woke us up, so next time I’d ask for a first-floor room. Sometimes you just want to sleep, even when the light is sunshine. Otherwise the motel was clean and comfortable, the people were friendly and helpful, and it was close to downtown. I’d definitely stay again.

The rates were affordable, and we felt we got our money’s worth. The owners, who were from Long Island, were wonderful, friendly, and attentive. We stayed in two different rooms over a few days, and both smelled fresh and clean. The pool was great, and I can’t think of a single complaint. My girlfriend found this place after we made the huge mistake of staying at the Montreal up the street. Thank goodness we did. I’d recommend it to couples or families on a budget who want a welcoming, clean hotel.

We got the inexpensive stay we were looking for, and the pool was the best part. We had it to ourselves on a wonderfully hot afternoon. The room needs updating, and the bathroom was crammed into far too little space: tiny toilet, rotting door, hinges cut into the jamb, little shower, and the curtain kept touching me in the tub. The AC smelled musty for the first few nights, so I bought a candle to help. It seemed to improve the longer it ran, but we had sore throats all three mornings. The bed was fine, and we appreciated the good ice machine by the office. The staff and owner were very friendly, and the location was convenient for restaurants and shops.

Our first stay was two nights on an early June weekend, and the motel served us perfectly for a low-cost trip. It’s on the Lake George main drag, close to everything downtown. The room had basic furniture and enough space to sleep, which was what we needed. Booking, email, front desk, and housekeeping were all great, and they even mailed my pillow back to me. At these low rates, don’t expect updated rooms and furnishings. If stairs are hard for you, avoid the second floor. Ask for a ground-level room with no room above it. The big window curtains leave you exposed at night if they’re open, though many people seemed happy sitting in the chairs outside their doors during the day.
